ETV - End The Violence (campaign)
Youth gang violence is not new phenomenon, but is on a devastating increase. In the last year alone we have seen young children and adults die at the hands of gang feuds, revenge attacks and innocents’ caught in the
crossfire. This affects EVERYONE.
EVERYONE is responsible. WHY? Because we can all do something to educate, prevent and change mindsets. Specifically, I propose to start this campaign locally – LONDON. Edmonton, Tottenham, Brixton, Hackney are just some of the familiar areas associated with gang culture and recent events have transpired in and around these areas.
EVERYONE is affected when someone in the local community is murdered. Parents, siblings, family members, friends, teachers are left devastated, confused, angry, frustrated, lost and bitter by these actions.
THE PROPOSAL is for EVERYONE to use their KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TALENTS to educate young children and adults about focusing their energy in a positive way by:
- Creating a series of songs under the ETV theme
- Online Strategists to build up awareness
- Radio awareness of the campaign and celebrities that are signed up to it.
- Sound bytes (mp3/wav files) from as many people stating who they are and why they are backing ETV
- Video clips of people stating who they are and why they are backing ETV
- Showcase in the summer to launch the campaign officially
- Researchers to help with piecing together facts of individual violent cases
- Presenters to interview celebrities and members of the public
- Music and Film directors, producers collaborating to create unique and shocking videos to highlight ETV
- Scripts from up-coming and established writers around the ETV theme
- PR for Television support from BBC, ITV, Channel4, MTV, Chat Show, Channel U to air short documentaries, debates, music around ETV.
- Printers donating resources to press ETV flyers, banners, tees and jumpers
- Representatives in other cities such as Wolvehampton, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle etc.
- Stakeholders and volunteer committee members
- Administration Team
I propose bringing all of these ideas together. Please make your ideas and contributions known to the address below. Thank you.
