Exclusive Taylor interview for 3meworld.com

Kibz managed to catch up with the sexy Taylor to discuss current affairs and future projects.
3meworld.com. First of all, please tell us a little bit about yourself?
Taylor. My name is Taylor. Born and raised in North London Islington.
Been in the Music Industry since the age of 13; started off as an MC and then found my way as a singer from the age of 16 and haven't stopped since.
3meworld.com. Which musician(s) would you identify as having influenced your own personal style?
Well growing up I always used to hear my mum playing Speed Garage, Jungle and 80's music - like people say “where do I get my energy from?” I definitely blame her lol.
But actual artist I use to hear were, Heaven 17, Human League, Spandau Ballet, David Bowie ( I always remember 'China Doll').. and then would hear my dad playing Sade or Bob Marley etc.
But when I started the music, the sound I was drawn to was definitely Garage music but more so the MC’ing side of the scene. I also liked hip-hop: Mobb Deep, Wu Tang Clan, Diplomat's, the list goes on.
I definitely blame my ex boyfriends for that influence (she laughs).
But leaving my young teenage years behind I really started to appreciate soulful artists like, Jill Scott, Indie Arie and Jocelyn Brown and loved how House music would be used to remix these powerful Singer's tunes.
So yeah, you could say my style is influenced by many types of sounds and I always try to achieve greatness through my music.
3meworld.com. So where do you see yourself in 3 to 5 years’ time?
Hopefully signed, performing all the time, having a big fan base and audiences understanding me – Taylor, the Artist.
3meworld.com. Give us a brief insight to the projects you are currently working on and what can we expect?
At the moment I’m working in the studio on some new stuff, getting ready to release a few tracks in the summer of twenty twelve (2012); so am focusing on studio time and putting the work in.
3meworld.com. Tell us more about your typical day?
At the moment my days are like this - Wake up, check e-mails, Twitter, food, 30-45 minutes of vocal practice, (and if I haven't got studio, I’ll) do a bit of writing and check for my friends on bb or having a long goss on the phone. But on most days, I’ll normally be chilling out with family or friends.
3meworld.com. What do you think of today’ trends in fashion?
mmmmm I love how everyone really embraces a kind of a 80s feel to how they dress like big chain's, Reeboks... But I always bring my own identity out.
I dress in whatever makes me feel comfortable, but always up-to-date with the latest trends. It’s always good to know what’s in and what’s out.
I love big junk jewelry - that’s a must on a day to day basis. I have a passion for prints and loud colours, but always making sure there’s a touch of femininity to it. Of course you've always got to look sexy (she laughs).
3meworld.com. SO Taylor, tell us the best parts of your journey in the industry you have experienced so far?
mmm I think when I got to perform at Somerset House that was one of my best moments; but then, I reckon performing generally has to be my best part. You just show an audience what you are made of!
