London's BURNING - Consequences.

No way! Not in my ends! These are the thoughts of many people who thought that the events of the 2011 UK riots would not affect them in their own area. What initially started as a peaceful protest into questionable Tottenham policing policy had fast descended into anarchy, hooliganism and sheer mindless thuggery affecting other London areas such as Brixton, Enfield, Islington, Wood Green, Oxford Circus, Bromley, Camden, Chingford Mount, Clapham, Croydon, Ealing, East Ham, Hackney, Lewisham, Peckham, Stratford, Waltham Forest and Woolwich.

Many people feel that this had been an anti-austerity protest which saw the boundaries of the disturbances extend to other parts of the UK to include Manchester, Merseyside, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, Bristol where attacks on capitalism and the ensuing looting took place. Other contributory factors cited were: Poor relations with police, Social exclusion, Family breakdown, Unemployment, Gang culture and Moral decay.

So, where do we go from here? What approach will be used in addressing many of the underlying issues currently decaying society? Who will take ownership and responsibility for pioneering the necessary changes needed? Artcha meets with Tottenham residents in discussing their thoughts and opinions on an event that many hope not to return to our society: the UK RIOTS.
